indian pride and foreign jealousy
india is, very surprisingly, a proud country. how that pride exists in the face of all its failures, cultural, civil, governmental, is a research question to be undertaken indeed.
parents pressure their children to follow their esteemed traditional values. what these values have got anybody, can only be probably answered in a world god only knows.
'they hate us because they ain't us', the indian elite from gurgaon says. as if there's a queue of people lining up outside the indian embassy to become a citizen. as if indian culture is being flaunted, looked up to, and shamelessly copied across the planet.
yet it's something ive noticed from a lot of elites in india. 'jealousy', 'merit', 'tradition', 'values'. that there is something inherently valuable in keeping tradition alive, even if the system falls apart and/or is barely holding itself together.
of course, superstructural critiques are liberal and infantile. but the system shouldn't be insulated from criticism.
the truth is that india is a failed state. it is an example of what a country should not end up as, and a culture that should not be blindly preserved without critical thinking.
but i can't say that out loud , or the proud hindu liberals will attack me. attacking india is an attack on their religion and its civilization-al values.
so when i hear indians complain about 'racism'. i say nothing. because sometimes medicine is bitter. sometimes pride and arrogance needs a punch to the face
