communists need to practice mindfulness
im a firm believer of partial solutions.
partial solutions feature quite a bit in A Thousand Plateaus, specifically
in the process where the motile organism, in traversing the problem field
attempts to transfigure the realm of the virtual into that of the actual,
bypassing the pressurizing mist-powers of the real.
this is particularly important to evolve complex organs and adaptations
to exceedingly difficult problems. wings in birds for example, aren't
simply webbed like mammals and pterodactyls. they probably came about
as a fusion of multiple partial solutions to different problems:
insulation, mating, intimidation, before finally solving the problem
of low effort gliding, and then high powered flight, inadvertently.
the world is harsh, indifferent and cruel. the crisis that will spell the end of capitalism, within this century,
will be even crueler than all other previous crises.
we live in a brutal world, and trying to find our unique way to act within it
requires that we also practice distance from the very horrors that abound.
we cannot believe in what we choose to practice if the fear of action
and the state of both the world and our own lives paralyzes us.
we are not liberalism's superheroes, and we do not see ourselves that way.
solutions aren't magical interventions, they take generations of effort backed by mountains of patience. acting within that frame requires a degree of
acceptance of the way things are, as well as a paradoxical understanding of one's own insignificance as well as possibility of significance, that our
very position may allow us to push the realm of possibility to the realm of reality and subsequently, transform this world of the living to the world of tomorrow.
the cruel reality that
theory reveals unto us must be coupled by the brass of a mind that can withstand the weight of that understanding.
ill see you at 5 am for the vipassana session.
